The Second Congressional District of Maine is the largest congressional district east of the Mississippi River.  It covers 11 of  Maine's 16 counties, Androscoggin, Aroostook, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington.  Major cities in the Second District include Lewiston, Auburn, Bangor, Waterville & Presque Isle.  This district is unique in that it is the first place in the United States where the sun becomes visible each morning.
